Gem State Ballroom Dance Company offers ballroom classes for homeschool students ages 5–19, from beginning ballroom through advanced performance and competition opportunities.
Our classes are designed to help students grow in confidence, technique, teamwork, respect, and performance skills.
Students are placed in classes based on age, level, experience, and program requirements. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment where each student can continue growing at an appropriate pace.
For students ages 5–19.
Syllabus Ballroom classes help students build a strong foundation in ballroom dance as they progress through Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels.
Students learn proper steps, timing, technique, partnering, posture, musicality, etiquette, and performance skills as they move through the program.
Students may not skip levels. This helps each dancer build the technique, confidence, and partner skills needed for long-term success.
Class placement is based on student age, experience, level, and program requirements.
Students ages 5–7 by August 1st attend a 30-minute class once per week on Tuesdays.
Students ages 8–19 by August 1st attend a 1-hour class once per week on Tuesdays.
This allows younger students to build rhythm, coordination, and basic ballroom skills in an age-appropriate format, while older students have more time for technique, partner work, and syllabus progression.
Classes run from September through May with registration opening in June for the following season.
Students continue building skills throughout the season, with opportunities to prepare for performances, testing, and additional ballroom experiences as they progress.
Bronze is the beginning level for students ages 5–19 by August 1st.
Students learn foundational ballroom steps, timing, rhythm, basic technique, and respectful partner skills.
This level is ideal for students who are new to ballroom or still building their foundation.
Silver is for students who have completed the required Bronze-level instruction, have been tested, are ready for intermediate ballroom work and are ages 12-19 by August 1st
